Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung laju sedimen yang diakibatkan adanya pasang-surut air laut. Besarnya laju sedimen tergantung dari selisih konsentrasi sedimen pada saat air pasang (air masuk ke saluran) dan surut (air keluar ke taut) serta jumlah volume air laut yang masuk kedalam saluran. Untuk menghitung konsentrasi sedimen dilakukan dengan cara mengambil contoh air dengan interval waktu tertentu selama minimal satu periode pasang surut, kemudian dilakukan analisa di laboratorium. Sedangkan untuk menghitung volume air yang masuk kedalam saluran diperlukan data-data pasang-surut selama periode tertentu dan data hidrolik saluran. Dari data tersebut dapat dianalisa dengan perhitungan hidrolik, sehingga volume lair lautyang masuk ke saluran selama periode tertentu dapat diketahui. The magnitude of sediment rate is depend on the differences of sediment concentration during flood and ebb period and total volume of sea water entering to the channel. To calculate the sediment concentration, some water sample is taken within certain interval during one tidal period minimum and than will be analyzed in the laboratory. To calculate volume of sea water entering to the channel is required the tidal data and hydraulic data of the channel. Based on this data can be analyzed with hydraulic calculation, so volume sea water entering to the channel within certain period can be known.
