Abstract
The transportational! problems in Semarang emerge related to the vehicle accretion as the consequence of income growth and vehicle property escalation. The other transportational prob lems are caused by traffic accumulation in Semarang Trading Centre Area where the area, is allocated for shopping complex and all at once for storehouSe, forms the potential of great movement instigator in the form of goods and passanger transpor¬tation. Additionally, by the presence of mixture traffic - the entrance of regional traffic in urban centre line - causes the tendency of traffic jam greater and greater. With the condition on one side, while the capacity of existing road in Semarang, on the other side, is relatilve constant. By the existence of unequi¬librium between vehicle volume and road capacity, it takes place traffic jam so it can not be avoided bringing about polution (water, air, vibration), accident, pedestrian difficulty/trouble, and parking which adds the traffic chaos greater and greater. This is also less supported by good transportational system,namely between means/infrastructure, and traffic manage¬ment/handling technique have not supported yet. By the develop¬ment and the functioning of the fully equipped urban ring road, it makes the alteration in traffic movement pattern which will pass and go into Semarang so it occurs traffic assignment in the interrelated road network. By seeing the system of urban traffic and the level of road handling, supported by the functioning of urban ring road, it is hoped that it can be found the technique of precise urban traffic management. Masalah transportaSi di kota Semarang timbul berkaitan dengan pertambahnya kendaraan akibat pertumbuhan pendapatan dan peningkatan pemilikan kendaraan. Masalah transportasi yang lain disebabkan penumpukan lalu lintas di Daerah Pusat Perdagangan Semarang dimana lahan diperuntukan pertokoan sekaligus gudang merupakan potensi pembangkit pergerakan yang besar berupa angkutan barang dan angkutan penumpang. Ditambah dengan adanya lalu lintas campuran yaitu masuknya lalu lintas regional pada lintasan di pusat kota berakibat kecenderungan kemacetan semakin besar. Dengan kondisi tersebut di satu sisi, sedangkan disisi lain kapasitas jalan yank ada di kota Semarang relatif tetap. Dengan adanya ketidak-Seimbangan antara volume kendaraan dan kapasitas jalan ini, terjadilah kemacetan lalu lintas, sehingga tidak dapat dihindari lagi timbul polusi (udara, suara, getaran), kecelakaan, kesulitan pedestrian, parkir yang semakin menambah kesemrawutan lalu lintas. Hal ini juga kuran balk, yaitu antara saran lintas belum menunjang. lingkar kota yang lengka kan lalu lintas yang a sehingga terjadi trait terkait.
