Abstract

Maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is still high, 307 per 100.000 life-births. Normal delivery care (APN) training in Banjarnegara district is able to reduce maternal death resulted from post partum bleeding however it has not succeeded in decreasing the death caused by infection. The objective of this study was to identify factors related to the implementation of infection prevention procedure on normal delivery assistance by post-trained APN midwifes in the district of Banjarnegara. The result of this study shows association between knowledge and the implementation of infection prevention procedure (r= 0.360, p= 0.003), attitude and the implementation of infection prevention procedure (r= 0.448, p= 0.0001), motivation and the implementation of infection prevention procedure (r= 0.530, p= 0.001), perception towards supervision and the implementation of infection prevention procedure (r= 0.680, p= 0.0001), instruments availability and the implementation of infection prevention procedure (r= 0.832, p= 0.001). The implementation of infection prevention procedure by post-trained of normal delivery procedure (APN) midwives is better than those who do not attend in APN training. (p=0.0001).
