Abstract
Backgrounds: Adenocarcinoma mammae is the second causa of Indonesian cancer women death. In 1995, I Made Budi introduced red fruit. Red fruit has high levels of beta carotene and tocopherol that can increase IL-2 levels. IL-2 acts in imunity of tumors by increasing the NK cells activity. Mononuclear cells proliferation around adenocarcinoma mammae showed the imun activity to the cancer cells. Objectives: To prove the effect of Pandanus conoideus oil increasing mononuclear cells proliferation around adenocarcinoma mammae’s tissue in C3H mice. Methods: Experimental study with post test only control group design. Samples were 15 C3H mices and divided into 3 groups. Group K: were innoculated with cancer cells, got standard diet, and were given with 0,2 cc aquadest per day orally for 3 weeks. P1: were innoculated with cancer cells and then after tumors appeared, administrated with 0,2 cc Pandanus conoideus oil per day orally for 3 weeks. P2: were innoculated with cancer cells and then after tumors appeared for 3 weeks, administrated with 0,2 cc Pandanus conoideus oil per day orally for 3 weeks. Result: The highest mean of mononuclear cells proliferation’s score was 2,48 (0,50) on P1; 2,40 (0,24) on P2; and the lowest was 0,84 (0,33) on group K. There was a significant difference in mononuclear cells proliferation’s score between all groups (p=0,007). Mean of mononuclear cells proliferation’s score was significant between group K and P1 (p=0,008) and between group K and P2 (p=0,008). There was no significant difference between group P1 and P2 (p=0,337). Conclusions: Pandanus conoideus oil has effect in increasing the mononuclear cells proliferation around adenocarsinoma mammae’s tissue in C3H mice. Keywords: Pandanus conoideus, mononuclear cells proliferation, adenocarcinoma mammae.
