HUBUNGAN FAKTOR RISIKO MENYUSUI DENGAN KEJADIAN KANKER PAYUDARA PADA PASIEN YANG DI RAWAT INAP DI RS.Dr. KARIADI SEMARANG

Abstract

Background : Breast cancer is the most prevalence cancer in women.It is the second cancer after cervix cancer found in Indonesia.The Causes of breast cancer are multifactorial,breastfeeding is one of the risk factor of breast cancer and can be avoided. Objective : To prove the relationship between breastfeeding and the incidence of breast Cancer in Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Material and method : Study design was a cross sectional study held in March until June 2007.Sampel was patients hospitalized in surgery department Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang .Data were collected from the interview with the patients who stayed in Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang. The data collected were age, breastfeeding or not, duration of breastfeeding.Data were analyzed using bivariate analysis. to examine prevalence ratio using 2x2 table. Result: From 72 patients, breastfeeding is the risk factor of breast cancer incidence in Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang (RP= 2,09 ; CI 95%= 1,634 - 2,675 ). Conclusions: In this study, breastfeeding is the risk factor of breast cancer incidence in Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Keywords: breastfeeding, breast cancer
