Abstract

Background: Meperidine and ketamine can be used after general anesthesia to prevent shivering. Meperidin and ketamin can also change hemodynamic, which can be seen at the change of blood pressure and heart rate. The objective of this study is to know the comparison between blood pressure and heart rate in patients who have Ketamine and Meperidine after General Anesthesia. Methods: This study is an experimental, uses secondary data from dr. Budi Yulianto Sarim’s experiment. The data is taken from 72 patients who have operation with general anesthesia in Kariadi Hospital and fulfilling the following criterions: physical status of ASA I-II, age 16-60 years old, normal weight (Broca 90%-110%), operate duration 2 – 3 hours, not have epylepsi, hypertension, cerebri blood disorder, high cerebri blood pressure and psychiatri disorder. Exclusion is for patient who have vasoconstrictor drug during operation, spontaneous breath and laryngeal reflex not come after 3 hours. From the 72s patient’s data, the blood pressure and heart rate after ketamin, meperidin, and saline induction are being compared. The data is processed with the facility of SPSS release 15.0 for Windows. Normality test uses Shapiro-Wilk test, continued by hypothesis test using Anova and Kruskal Wallis. Degree of significance is p<0.05. Result: There is no significance difference between meperidin and ketamin on hemodynamic changes. Conclusion: Giving ketamine and meperidine after general anesthesia can causes hemodynamic changes which statistically have no significant. Keywords: ketamine, meperidine, blood pressure, heart rate.
