Abstract

Gracilariu sp. is an economical seaweed because of agar content, and it spread out in Indonesia waters. Spray Technique Culture and adding plant growth regulator "atonik." may be able to solve the ursuitable natural conditions for seaweed culture. The improvement of both the quality of raw material and the culture technology of seaweed are crucial to support the agar industries. Hence, the evaluation of growth rate, -quantity dan quality of Gracilurict sp. which was cultured by spray technique should he administered. Seaweed tested "G. verrbeava" was collected from Bondo coastal water. The research was conducted during 42 days (six weeks) at the Bulak baru village, Jepara. and Agricultural PrOcessing Laboratory of UGM, Yogyakarta. Experimental laboratories and completely randomized design with tree replications were applicated. The treatments used were four different concentrations of atonik i.e: 0 ppm; 0.5 ppm + 5 jiM fosfat; 1.0 ppm 5 tM fosfat; and 1.5 'I) p •E 5 ti.M fosfat 'Tire result showed that the combination between atonik and high significantly affect on the growth rate, quantity •d quality of Gracuaria sp. (p<0.0 ) which was cultured by spray technique. Atonik has a positive response on the growth rate; agar quantity; viscosity of agar and it lids negative response on the the agar gel strength of (iracihrria sp. • I. Gracilaria sp. merupakan rumput 'ant yang potensial sebagai penghasil agar dan tersebar luas di Indonesit,. Selain inetoda budidaya alternatif dengan spray technique untuk perbaikan produksi, maka perlu diujicobakan kombinasi zat pengatur tumbuh atonik dengan fospat pada rumput last terse'out. Penelitian dilakukan di desa 13ulak Baru, Jepara selama 6 minggu. Analisis kandungan agar clan kadar air dilakukan di Laboratorium Hasil Pertanian, UGM Yogyakarta. Eksperimen laboratoris dan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dari tiga kali ulangan diaplikasikan. Media budidaya terdiri dari air laut yang mempunyai I:onsentrasi atonik 0 ppm; 0.5 ppm 4 5 pi fosfat; 1.0 ppm + 5 p.M fosfat; and 1.5 ppm 5 taM fosfat Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi atonik dan fospat berpengartth sangat nyata pada pertumbuhan, kuantitas dan Kualitas agar (p<0.01) dari Gracilaria sp. yang dibudidayakan dengan spray technique.. Kombinasi atonik dan fosfat mempunyai respon positif terhadap pertumbuhan, kuantitas dan viskositas agar dart respon negatif terhadap gel strength.
