Abstract

Background : Refraction anomaly or ametrop is a light focusing disorder of eye, which consist of myopia, hypermetrop and astigmatism. Refraction anomaly prevalence is increasing every year. This condition is triggered by early detection by sophisticated medical and visual technologies; and people lifestyle. The purpose of this research was to know incomplete corrected refraction anomaly cases in Dr. Kariadi Hospital in January 1st 2002 – December 31st 2003 periods and which age groups have the largest incomplete corrected refraction anomaly cases. Objective : The purpose of this research was to know incomplete corrected refraction anomaly cases in Dr. Kariadi Hospital january 1st 2002 – december 31st 2003 period and age group which has the largest incomplete corrected refraction anomaly case. Method : This research was an observational descriptive research with cross sectional study. Subject was selected based on medical record January 1st 2002-Decenber 31st 2003 period. The inclusive criterias were: suffers an incomplete corrected refraction anomaly, treated in Dr. Kariadi Hospital, recorded in Dr. Kariadi Hospital January 1st 2002-Decenber 31st 2003 period and age 5 – 40 years old. Result: There are 325 cases of incomplete corrected refraction anomaly case from 1333 refraction anomaly cases in 2002-2003. Conclusion: The largest incomplete corrected refraction anomaly cases are myopia with 58, 15% percentage. Most of incomplete corrected myopia cases don’t have complete explanation about another disorder which accompanies it. Keywords : incomplete corrected refraction anomaly, prevalence, myopia
