Abstract
The goal of the investigation was to know the quality of forages (Setaria Sp) in mix cropping system with centro, calopo and crotalaria. The research was conducted as Tembalang, Semarang from September 25 Th. 1998 until Midle of February 1999. A block randomized design was used in this research, setaria with 3 different legume (centro, calopo and crotalaria) were placed In the 21 plot of soil. The wid of each plot is 4 x 5 m. This study used 7 treatment with 3x replaced. These are : Treatment 1 (T1) : monoculture setarla Treatment 2 (T2) : polyculture setarla and calopo Treatment 3 (T3) Polyculture setaria and centro Treatment 4 (T4) : Polyculture setarla and crotalarla Treatment 5 (T5) : monoculture calopo Treatment 6 (T6) : monoculture centro Treatment 7 (T7) : monoculture crotalarla The result of the investigation showed that the forage production were increasing in defoliation I and II in the polyculture system. The crude protein was increase in the polyculture system setaria with crotalaria, but the higher TON was in polyculture setaria and centro Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui kualitas tanaman pakan rumput setaria yang ditanam secara polycultur dengan legume centro, calopo dan crotalaria dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan di kelurahan Tembalang, kecamatan Tembalang, Kodia Semarang. Pelaksanaan penelitian adalah tanggal 20 September 1998 sampai dengan 23 Februarl 1999. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian meliputi pals setaria, benih legume calopo, centro dan crotalaria. 21 petak yang masing-masing petak luasnya 4x5 m digunakan untuk penelitian. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 7 perlakuan dan 3x ulangan. Perlakuan 1 (T1) adalah : monokultur rumput setaria Perlakuan 2 (T2) adalah : campuran antara rumput dan legume Perlakuan 3 (T3) adalah : campuran antara rumput dan legume centro, calopo Perlakuan 4 (T4) adalah campuran antara rumput dan legume crotalaria Perlakuan 5 (T5) adalah monokultur calopo Perlakuan 6 (T6) adalah monokultur centro Perlakuan 7 (T7) adalah : monocultur crotalaria Hash penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi hijauan meningkat pada tumpang sari antara rumput dan legume, baik pada difollasi pertama maupun ke dua untuk kandungan protein kasar tertinggi adalah tumpangsari antara setaria dengan legume crotalaria.
