Abstract

MATERIAL Sixty eight samples of sputum with give result positif and negatif for direct microscopic examination acid fast bacilli (AFB). METHODS : of this study is cross sectional. STATISTICAL METHODS: two by two table for diagnostic test analysis. RESULT: A total of 68 subjects range age 15-70 year, consisting of 23 ( 33,82%) female and 45 (66,18%) male. 8Z35% subject arc in productive age's and more than 22,06% subject as a labor. Examination of sputum AFB by direct smear showed posilif result 40 (58,82%) and conventionale methods culture (KUDOH) wich give result 51 (75%), while the use of BACTEC TB system recoveries of significant mycobacteria in 56(82,35%). The BACTEC Tb system culture sensitivity 94,12% while KUDOH 92,50%, BACTEC spesificity 52,94% acuracy 83,82%, positive predictive value 85,72% and negative predictive value 75%. Time required for isoladon mycobacteria an BATEC TB system most for two week. CONCLUSION: The BACTEC TB system culture sensitivity arc 94,12%, acurarY 83,82% but spesificity only 52,94%. Most of micobactetia growth in second week for BACTEC TB system. The BACTEC TB system culture for recovery micobacteda faster than cotwentionale methods. Many limitation of this study that we require for continuoing studies with more number subject and wide's clinic mammon.
