PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN POLA STRAIN VENTRIKEL KIRI PADA KRITERIA SOKOLOW-LYON DALAM MENILAI HIPERTROFI VENTRIKEL KIRI

Abstract

Background The diagnosis of hypertensive heart disease is denoted by existence of Left Ventricel Hypertrophy. By adding Strain pattern on Sokolow-Lyon criteria, the specificity of LVH diagnosis using electrocardiographic can be enhanced. Methods Design of this study was observasional correlative test which subjected to establish the effect of addition of Strain pattern on Sokolow-Lyon in diagnosing LVH. The subjects were patients with hypertension in Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Ages, weight, height, blood pressure, electrocardiography with 12 lead and echocardiography were recorded. The statistic analysis using bivariate analysis computed used SPSS ver 16.0 and the regretion logistic analysis with p < 0,05. Results Each of Sokolow-Lyon criteria with Strain pattern group and the absence one consisted of 41 people. Both of the groups with respect of age, sex, BMI, and blood pressure were similar, with no significant difference (p > 0,05). The difference of LVH between two groups was statistically significant (p = 0,012). The group with Strain pattern hada higher risk (OR = 6,3; 95% CI : 1,283-30,838) for LVH compared to the non-strain pattern group. Conclusions From this study, it was concluded that there was significance difference and influence between two groups by adding LV strain to Sokolow-Lyon criteria in diagnosing LVH, so electrocardiography can be helpful to establish the diagnosis LVH.
