HUBUNGAN DERAJAT HISTOPATOLOGIS GINJAL MENCIT BALB/c DENGAN PEMBERIAN PROPOXUR 4,05 % DOSIS BERTINGKAT PER ORAL

Abstract

Background: Propoxure 4,05 % as active ingredien of Baygon, is a pesticide commonly used in the field of agriculture as well as health. However, nowadays it is also commonly used in the cases of suicide attempt. Propoxur inhibits the activity of asetilcholinesterase on nerve and pseudocholinesterase on plasm. Intoxication signs and symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, sweating, diarrhea, excessive salivation, blurring of vision, breathing difficulty, hypertension and death resulting from respiratory system failure. Propoxur, one of nefrotoxin essence of kidney, can make a damage at the proximal tubulus with variation grade and different prognosis depend on the demage. This research was wished to find the correlation of histopathological level on Balb/c kidney with oral administration of graded dose propoxur. Objective: to find correlation of histophatological level on BALB/c mice’ kidney with oral administration of graded dose propoxur 4,05 % 0,1ml, 0,2 ml and 0,4 ml, respectively. Method: this experimental study with post test only control group design used 24 Balb/c male mice which were divided into 4 groups. Group K received no propoxur and was treated control. Group P1 treated with 0,1 ml ( 0,37 mg) propoxur 4,05 % in Baygon. Group P2 treated with 0,2 ml ( 0,74 ml) propoxur 4,05 % in Baygon. Group P3 treated with 0,4 ml ( 1,48 mg) propoxur 4,05 % in baygon. Then kidney were taken to be absorved and made into slide with HE stain, then the proximal tubulus were examined. The data were analized by the test of differences Kruskal – Wallis and Mann – Whitney. Result: Outcome of Kruscal – Wallis test showed significant differences between all groups ( p = 0,02). The outcome of Mann – Whitney test: between group 1 and II ( p = 0,02) group I and III ( p = 0,065 ),and group II and III ( p = 0,818 ) Conclution: there were correlation of histophatological level on Balb/c mice’ kidney with oral administration of propoxur 4,05 % between untreated group and propoxur 4,05 % treated groups. And between each graded dose propoxur 4,05 % treated groups. Keywords: propoxur,kidney histopahtological appereance
