Abstract

Background : Emotional ntelligence / Emotional Quotient ( EQ) is an emotional skill which consists of 5 aspects. The skill of EQ is not contradictory with the skill of IQ, but they both interact dynamically as well as conceptual stage or in reality. Someone should master the cognitive skill in and also the social and emotional skill. Objective : the objective of this research is to define the correlation of emotional intelligence and nutritional status to the study achievement. Design of study : cross sectional. Subject of study and data analysis : sample was taken from two Junior High School in Semarang which was chosen by cluster random sampling on June 2002. EQ data, nutritional status and study achievement were analyzed by descriptively. EQ and nutritional status to the study achievement were analyzed by logistic regression, and the correlation between EQ with nutritional status to the study achievement were analyzed by multiple regression. The result : showed that there were 126 students consist of 45.2 % boys, 54.8 % girls. There were 60.3 % students with high EQ, 73 % with good nutritional status, 29.4 % with high result of study achievement. There was no correlation between EQ and nutritional status with the study achievement ( r = 0.016, p = 0.862 ) and ( r = 0.062, p = 0.494 ). The multiple regression analysis between nutritional status with EQ and the study achievement indicate a significant correlation (p = 0.046 ) Conclusion : there is no significant correlation toward students achievement, nutritional status with EQ, but there is a significant correlation of both to the study achievement. Key words : Emotional Intelligence, Nutritional Status, Study Achievement Latar belakang : Kecerdasan Emosional / Emotional Quotient ( EQ ), adalah suatu ketrampilan emosi yang terdiri dari 5 aspek. Ketrampilan EQ bukan lawan keterampilan IQ, namun keduanya berinteraksf secara dinamis, balk ditingkat konseptual maupun di dunia nyata. Seseorang sebaiknya menguasai ketrampilan kosmitif sekaligus ketrampilan sosial dan emosional. Tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan Kecerdasan Emosional, Status Gizi terhadap Prestasi Belajar. Rancanganpenelitian: secara belah lintang. A/letode Penelitian : sampel adalah pelajar kelas II dari 2 SLTP di Semarang yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling pada bulan Juni 2002. Data EQ, Status Gizi dan Prestasi Belajar disajikan secara diskriptif Dilakukan analisis antara EQ dan Status Gizi terhadap Prestasi Belajar secara regresi logistik, sedangkan hubungan EQ bersama-sama Status Gizi terhadap Prestasi Belajar dianalisis secara regresi multipel. Host 1 : penelitian menunjukkan dari 126 siswa, perbandingan laki-laki dan perempuan adalah 45,2 % : 54,8 %. Didapatkan sebanyak 60,3 % mempunyai EQ tinggi, 73 % dengan status gizi baik, 29,4 % dengan Prestasi Belajar tinggi. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara EQ maupun Status Gizi dengan Prestasi Belajar ( r = 0.016, p = 0.862 ) dan ( r = 0.062, p = 0.494 ). Analisis regresi multipel antara hubungan Status Gizi bersama-sama EQ dengan Prestasi Belajar menunjukkan hubungan bermakna ( p - 0.046 ). Kesimpulan : tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara EQ maupun Status Gizi dengan Prestasi Belajar. Status Gizi bersama-sama EQ mempunyai hubungan yang bermakna terhadap Prestasi Belajar Kata kunci : Kecerdasan Emosional, Status Gizi, Prestasi Belajar
