Abstract

The objectives of this research was to know the differences influences of alternate dumbbell press medium load and low load training on the improvement strike speed and reaction time. The method used in this research was " The Randomized control Group Pre Test - Posttest design". The place of the research at Diponegoro University, Semarang. Sample was male students in 17 - 21 years old. The samples was devide into three groups by ordinal pairing based or. the pretest of strike speed. Experiment group and control group were determined randomly. Treatment of "alternate dumbbell press training with medium load" was given to experiment group 1, and that of ' alternate dumbbell press training with low load" was given to experiment group 2, whereas for control group Was not given any training. Training haa been done for six weeks with the frequency of three times a week. Strike speed and reaction time my measured three times: before the first treatment (pre test), at the and of three weeks training ( poet test 1). and the and of six weeks training ( poet test 2). Strike speed was measured with photo gate meter and reaction time measured with reaction time meter type RTM. 96031. Data were nalized by discriptive statistics, analysis of varies; and ttteet aproaoh found in microstat program and state on the significant degree 95%, as follows : a. Alternate dumbbell press with medium and low loads training is not significark degree on strike speed ( p r 0.1028, p>0.05). b. Alternate dumbbell prams with medium and low loads train¬ing improve significantly both strikes speed and reaction time ( p=0.000E+00 p< 0.01). c. Alternate dumbbell press with medium loads training improve reaction time better if compered with alternate dumbbell press low loads training (px1.705E-10 p < 0.01 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lati ban "alaternate dumbbell press" berbeban sedang dan latihan "alternate dumbbell press" berbeban ringan terhadap kecepatan memukul dan waktu reaksi. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan "eksperimen lapangan sunggvhan" dengan rancangan penelitian " randomized control group pretest - posttest design".Peneli¬tian ini berlokasi di Semarang. Sampel mahasiswa laki-laki Universitas Diponegoro yang berusia 17-21 tahun. Sampel dibagi kedalam 3 kelompok dengan cara "ordinal pairing" berdasarkan tes awal kecepatan memukul. Untuk menen tukan kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dilakukan secara random. Kelompok eksperimen 1 diberi perlakuan latihan "alternate dumbbell press" berbeban sedang, kelompok eksperi¬men 2 diberi perlakuan latihan "alternate dumbbell press" berbeban ringan, sedang kolompok kontrol tidak diberi perla¬kuan. Latihan dilakukan selama 6 minggu, dengan frekuensi latihan 3 x per minggu. Kecepatan memukul dan waktu reaksi dilakukan pengukuran sebanyak tiga kali: sebelum perlakuan (pre test), setelah 3 minggu latihan (post test 1) dan pada akhir 6 minggu latihan (post test 2). Kecepatan memukul diukur dengan photo gate meter dan waktu reaksi diukur dengan reaction time meter type ATM. 96031. Data dianalisis degan statistik deskriptif, analisis varians dan t-test yang terdapat dalam "microstat", dan ditetapkan pada taraf signifikansi 95%. Dari basil analisis diketahui bahwa : a. Pengaruh latihan "alternate dumbbel press" berbeban sedang Jika dibandingkan dengan pengaruh latihan "alternate dumbbell press" berbeban ringan tidak berbeda secara signifikan terhadap kecepatan memukul ( p= 0.1028) , p 0.05. b. Pengaruh latihan "alternate dumbbel press" berbeban sedang dan "alternate dumbbell press" berbeban ringan sama-sama meningkatkan kecepatan memukul dan waktu reaksi (p=0.000E+00,p< 0.01). c. Latihan alternate dumbbell press berbeban sedang lebih balk dalam memperpendek waktu reaksi jika dibandingkan denga latihan alternate dumbbell press berbeban ringan (P=1.705E-10,p<0.01).
