Abstract
This experiment was aimed to determine the average of daily gain, microbial protein production, and protein retention in thin tailed sheep (TTS). Twelve TTS rams, aged 10-11 months, weighed 19,99±0.93 kg (CV=4.7%), were fed napier grass as a basal diet. They were allocated into a completely randomized design with 3 treatments of dried tofu waste feeding levels, namely 0.6%; 1.2% and 1.8% of body weight. The results showed that the treatments had significant effect (P<0,01) on dry matter intake, average daily gain, microbial protein production, and protein retention. The treatments had no significant effect (P>0.05) on amonia concentration and blood urea. The average of dry matter intakes were 593.02 g (T1); 638.83 g (T2); and 812.71 g (T3). Microbial protein production of T1, T2 and T3 were 5.67; 12.25 and 36.44 g/d, respectively. Ammonia concentration of Tl, 12 and T3 were 40.85; 20.03 and 29.84 mM/1, respectively. Blood urea concentration of T I , T2 and T3 were 58.48; 59.58; and 62.00 mg/1, respectively. Protein retention of T1, T2 and T3 were 11.53; 21.08 and 38.99 g/d, respectively. The average daily gain of T I , T2 and T3 were 42.50; 48.45; and 107.26 g, respectively. The conclutions of this research were suplementation of napier grass with dry tofu waste increased daily gain average, microbial protein production, and protein retention in male thin tail sheep.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh aras pemberian ampas tahu kering terhadap produksi protein mikroba (PPM), retensi protein dan pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH) pada domba ekor tipis (DET). Sebanyak 12 ekor DET jantan, umur I 0-1 I bulan, dan bobot badan awal 19,99±0,923 kg (CV=4,7%), diberi pakan dasar rumput gajah. Domba-domba tersebut dialokasikan dalam rancangan acak lengkap 3 perlakuan aras pemberian ampas tahu kering, yaitu 0,6% (T I ), 1,2% (T2), dan 1,8% (T3) dari bobot badan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi BK, PPM, retensi protein dan PBBH berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) antar perlakuan. Konsentrasi amonia rumen dan kandungan urea darah tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Konsumsi BK pada Tl, T2 dan T3 masing-masing adalah 593,02; 638,83 dan 812,71 g. Rata—rata PPM pada TI, T2 dan T3 masing-masing adalah 5,67; 12,25 dan 36,44 g/h. Konsentrasi amonia rumen pada T1, T2 dan T3 masing-masing adalah 40,85; 20,03 dan 29,84 mg/I. Kandungan urea darah pada T1, T2 dan T3 masing-masing adalah 58,48; 59,58 dan 62,00 mg/I. Retensi protein pada T I , T2 dan T3 masing-masing adalah 20,63; 27,80 dan 37,58%. Rata—rata PBBH pada T I , T2 dan T3 masing-masing adalah 42,50; 48,45 dan 107,26 g Kesimpulan yang diperoleh bahwa pemberian ampas tahu kering sampai 1,8 % dari bobot badan meningkatkan PBBH, produksi protein mikrobia, dan retensi protein pada DET jantan.
