Abstract
Background : Nowadays, people tend to use natural ingredients as a form of medication, one of which is Apium graviolens, believed to be able to cure many diseases. Unfortunately many public don’t know the advantage of Apium graviolens for someone kidney. The objective of this study is to show that there is a difference in the histological appearance of the male wistar’s kidneys between the groups that were given Ganoderma lucidum and that who was not and afterthat inducted by the Ganoderma lucidum. Method : This is an experimental study, using the post test only control group design. The sample were 15 male wistar mice with specific criteria and randomized into 3 groups. Group K as the control. Group P1 inducted by the Ganoderma lucidum 7mg/day at the 10 th day for 3 days, group P2 was gived Apium graviolens 12,096gr/day and inducted by the Ganoderma lucidum 7mg/day for 3 days. On the 14th day, the wistar mice were decapitated, then the kidneys were made into slides with HE stain, then the proximal tubules were examined. Result : From the slides in control 60% of the tubulus proximal aren’t damaged and mild 40%. At P1 group, there are just 16% aren’t damaged, meanwhile 36% mild, 25% moderate and 25% severe. At P2 group there are 24% that aren’t damaged, 44% mild damaged, 20% moderate damaged and 12% severe damaged. According to the statistic the difference distribution category grade damaged of the tubulus proximal from above is significant (p=0,003). But the comparing category of the grade damaged between P1 and P2, the difference is not significant (p=0,6). Conclusion : Giving Ganoderma lucidum induce damaged to the tubulus kidney of the wistar mice. Giving Apium graviolens before giving Ganoderma lucidum actually reduce the grade damaged of the tubulus proximal that caused by the Ganoderma lucidum. Keywords : wistar mice, Apium graviolens ,Ganoderma lucidum, proximal tubules
