Abstract
Background: Tinospora crispa known as a medicine plant wich came from South East Asia, is used as traditional medicine to cure malaria disease.Tinospora crispa contain tinocrisposid that proven to decrease level of parasitemia This research is aimed at the effect (influence) of Tinospora crispa for Histopatologi appearance in the Mice Balb/C spleen Infected By Plasmodium Berghei ANKA. This can be seen from amaunt of pigmentation, tissue necrose, and white pulp dilatation in mice Balb/C infected by plasmodium berghei ANKA. Methode : This is experimental research with post test only control group design in trial animal mice balb/C. Samples are 18 male mice that devided into 3 group. All groups got standart feed. Control group is group that only got standart feed. The first experiment group is group that infected by Plasmodium berghei ANKA at day 3. The second experiment group is similasr with P1 but got an Tinospora crispa extract at day 1 until day 10 with dose 5.46 mg in 1 ml PGE. At day 6, 8 and 10 we collected two spleen for each group and made preparate . Looking the pigmentation, white pulp dilatation and tissue necrose. The data is analized by Kruskal wallis test and Mann Whitney U. Result: The experiment group that infected by Plasmodium berghei ANKA treated by Tinspora crispa shown recovery of spleen histopathology appearance compared with the experiment group withaout giving Tinospora crispa extract although it is statistically insignificant. Conclusion: Tinospora crispa extract 5,46 mg didn’t play any role in the recovery mice Balb/c spleen histopatology that infected by Plasmodium berghei ANKA meaningfully. Keyword: Tinospora crispa, spleen histopatology, plasmodium berghei ANKA
