PENGARUH PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK HEDYOTIS CORYMBOSA DOSIS BERTINGKAT TERHADAP RESPON PROLIFERASI LIMFOSIT LIEN MENCIT BALB/c

Abstract

Preface: Hedyotis corymbosa contains Kaempferol-3-0-rutinoside an antioxidant compound from group flavonols diglycoside. Kaempferol can increase production of IL-2, one of the most important cytokine in lymphocyte proliferation. Spleen produces lymphocyte and it has function as a defense tools from microorganism. Objectives: To know the effect of Hedyotis corymbosa extract by multilevel doses on lymphocyte proliferation response of BALB/c mice’s spleen. Methods: Experimental laboratory study (post test only control group design) using 20 Balb/c mice as sample which are divided into 4 groups, K, P1, P2, and P3. Each group is given with standard diet, Hedyotis corymbosa extract 80 mg, 160 mg, and 320 mg separately for 14 days. After that, all mice are terminated to isolate lymphocytes from the spleen, continued with counting lymphoblast in 200 lymphoblast and lymphocyte. Result: The comparison between K to P1 and P2 doesn’t show significant difference. But K, P1, P2 compared to P3 shows significant in difference. This might be caused by IL-2-associated immune reconstitution results from stimulation of peripheral T cell turnover, apoptosis, survival and possibly a boost of neothymopoiesis. Conclusion: All the P groups show increasing on lymphocyte proliferation response of BALB/c mice’s spleen, although only P3 group which shows a significant difference result.
