Abstract

Backgrounds: : Pearl grass has an advantages as a hepatoprotector, antitumor, antiinflamation, antitoxin, and antioxidant. It consists of : Hentriacontane, stigmasterol, asam oleanolic, asam ursolic, beta sitosterol, p-coumaric, sitisterol-D-glukoside, flavanoid glycoside, iridoid(asperulosid). Flavanoid and caumaric can increase body immunity system. Objectives : Comparing Pearl grass (Hedyotis corymbosa) destilation effects on phagocytosis activity of macrophage Balb/c mice in experimental groups with the control group. Methods : This is an experimental study, using The Post Test Only Control Group Design. The samples were 20 Balb/c mice with specific criteria and randomized into 4 groups. Group K is the control. Group P1, P2, and P3 are group that was given Pearl grass extract and observed the phagocytosis activity after 14 days. Extract in the form of condensation from entire shares of Pearl grass and made in three doses. Result : The administering of Pearl grass extract in 14 days with 80 mg, 160 mg, and 320 mg dose increases the phagocytosis activity of macrophage for each groups. Conclusions : The administering of Pearl grass extract with 320 mg/day dose, significantly increased the phagocytosis activity of macrophage. Keyword :Pearl grass (Hedyotis corymbosa), phagocytocis of macrophage, Balb/c mice
