Abstract

Background : Breast cancer was a malignant disease that was suffered by many women these days. Its morbidity and mortality rate was quite high. Lymphocytes had important role to inhibit cancer cells growth. Gynura pseudochina’s tubers consists of chemicals that were able to increase lymphocytes proliferation. The objective of this study was to show the influence of Gynura pseudochina’s tubers in lymphocytes proliferation of C3H mice was inoculated with adenocarcinoma mamma cell. Method : An experimental study with the post-test only control group design was carried out on experiment animal C3H mice, consisted of 20 female mice which devided into 4 groups. K was control group inoculated with cancer cells. P1 was group inoculated with cancer cells, after a lump was formed then given Gynura pseudochina’s tubers 0,123 mg/day for 3 weeks. P2 was group inoculated with cancer cells, after a lump was formed then given Gynura pseudochina’s tubers 0,246 mg/day for 3 weeks. Whereas P3 was group inoculated with cancer cells, after a lump was formed then given Gynura pseudochina’s tubers 0,492 mg/day for 3 weeks. And lymphocytes from the spleen of all mice were isolated. Lymphoblasts were counted in every 200 cells of homogen. Results : There was a significant different in lymphoblast count between K-P1, K-P2, K-P3, and P1-P3). But there was no significant different in lymphoblast count between P1-P2, nor P2-P3. Value of p ≤ 0,05 showed that was a significant different. Conclusion: : On the giving of Gynura pseudochina’s tubers extract there was a significant increase of lymphocyte proliferation on C3H mice were inoculated with adenocarcinoma mamma cells. But, on the giving of Gynura pseudochina’s tubers extract with stratified doses in this experimental showed no significant increase of lymphocyte proliferation.
