PENGARUH PEMBERIAN VITAMIN C TERHADAP KADAR LDL DAN HDL KOLESTEROL SERUM TIKUS WISTAR JANTAN HIPERLIPIDEMIA SETELAH PERLAKUAN JUS LIDAH BUAYA (Aloe vera Linn)

Abstract

PENGARUH PEMBERIAN VITAMIN C TERHADAP KADAR LDL DAN HDL KOLESTEROL SERUM TIKUS WISTAR JANTAN HIPERLIPIDEMIA SETELAH PERLAKUAN JUS LIDAH BUAYA (Aloe vera Linn) Endang Sri Sunarsih a), Zulkarnain Prakoso b) Latar belakang : Aloe vera telah diketahui memiliki banyak khasiat untuk pengobatan. Hanya sedikit penelitian yang telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui efek antihiperlipidemia Aloe vera. Aloe vera diduga mampu menurunkan kadar LDL kolesterol serum dan meningkatkan kadar HDL kolesterol serum karena mengandung asam nikotinat, vitamin C dan antraquinon. Pemberian vitamin C yang dikenal sebagai salah satu anti oksidan diharapkan meningkatkan efek tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pemberian vitamin C terhadap kadar LDL dan HDL kolesterol serum tikus hiperlipidemia yang telah diberi jus Aloe vera Linn. Metode : Penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan Pre and Post Randomized Controlled Group Design. Sampel terdiri dari 15 tikus wistar jantan umur 20 minggu yang secara acak dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok. Untuk kelompok kontrol tidak diberi perlakuan sedangkan dua kelompok perlakuan diberi vitamin C dengan dosis 3,38 mg/hari dan 11,25 mg/hari selama 3 hari setelah diberi jus Aloe vera Linn dengan dosis 4 ml/hari selama 14 hari. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji t dan anova pada derajat kemaknaan 5%. Hasil : Pemberian vitamin C pada kelompok perlakuan yang telah diberi jus Aloe vera Linn menyebabkan penurunan kadar LDL kolesterol dan HDL kolesterol serum secara bermakna (p=0,000). Kesimpulan : Pemberian vitamin C secara bermakna menurunkan kadar LDL kolesterol dan HDL kolesterol serum pada tikus hiperlipidemia yang telah diberi jus Aloe vera Linn. Selain itu peningkatan dosis vitamin C berpengaruh secara bermakna dalam menurunkan kadar LDL kolesterol dan HDL kolesterol serum tikus. Only few study was done in antihyperlipidemic effect of Aloe vera. Aloe vera was suspected to decrease the level of LDL cholesterol serum and increase the level of HDL cholesterol serum because it’s content of nikotinic acid, vitamin C and anthraquinon. The administration of vitamin C which wellknown as one of the antioxidan also suspect could increase the effect. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of vitamin C administration for LDL and HDL cholesterol serum level of the hyperlipidemic rats Aloe vera juice. Methods :. : An experimental study using control group with pre and post test design was carried out to already made hyperlipidemic Wistar rats. 15 male Wistar rats were divided into three groups. Control group received no other additional treatment and the other group were given diet containing vitamin C 3,38 mg and 11,25 mg per day for 3 days after receiced Aloe vera diet 4 ml per day for 14 days. Data were analyzed using paired t-test and one way anova. The degree of significant was 5%. Result : The administration of vitamin C were significantly (p=0.000) decreased the LDL cholesterol and HDL kolesterol serum level of rats which have given Aloe vera before. Conclusion : The administration of vitamin C significantly reduced the LDL cholesterol and HDL kolesterol serum level in hyperlipidemic rats which have given Aloe vera juice before. The increasement of vitamin C dose also proved a significant effect in decreasing LDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol serum level.
