Abstract

The use of green tea as health drinker or as daily drink in increase in recent years. Presence of tanin in this tea s must be altered, because tanin is foreign material for body that will be detoxicated in the liver. This research is aimed to know the change of guinea pig liver microanatomy structure after giving with many levels of green tea. This research has done at structure and function laboratory in Faculty of Mathematics and Nature Science in Diponegoro University. This research was laboratory research with 4 treatments and 6 times replication. Those treatments were gave to 2 months old female guinea pig. The treatments were giving of 3 grams green tea / 200 cc water, giving of 5 grams green tea / 200 cc water, giving of 7 grams green tea / 200 cc water, and giving of boiled water as control. Twenty centimeters cubic of each treatment was give once daily during 2 moths. After the treatments finished, the test animal were killed and the liver were taken. Liver microanatomy slide was made by Paraffin method and stained with Ehrlich Haematoxylin Eosin. Parameters observed were hepatocyte diameter, liver weight, and liver structure. Data was analyzed by varians analysis with Completely Randomized Design and Least Significance Different Test with 5% significancy. Support barometers were temperatur and humidity. The result of this research showed that giving of green tea on level 5 grams / 200 cc water and 7 grams / 200 cc water during 2 months caused gradually change guinea pig microanatomy structure.
