Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out fiber fraction content of three swamp grasses which potential as feed ruminant. This experiment was done with observation to find out three swamp grass domi-nated, swamp grass production, carrying capacity and fiber fraction of the swamp grass that became rumi-nant feed. Fiber fraction content were determined according to the procedures of Goering and Van Soest. The results showed that swamp area was dominated by tree species of grass, namely Hymenachne amplexicaulis, Ischaemum rugosum and Oryza rufipogon. The yield production were 34.450 kg/ha/year, 18.000 kg/ha/year and 16.920 kg/ha/year. Dry mater yield were 59.609,09 kg/ha/year, 35.947,80 kg/ha /year and 27.549,14 kg/ha/year. Carrying capacity were 21,78.Animal Unit/ha/year,respectively. 13,13.Animal Unit/ ha/year and 10,06.Animal Unit/ha/year. Hymenachne amplexicaulis contained NDF 71,00 %, ADF 41,07%, cellulose 36,32%, hemicellulose 29,93% and lignin 3,68%; Ischaemum rugosum contained NDF 68,02 %, ADF 40,39%, celulose 36,03%, hemicelulose 27,62% and lignin 4,45%. and Oryza rufipogon contained NDF 67,89 %, ADF 38,03%, celulose 34,21%, hemicllulose 29,86 % and lignin 3,65%. Keywords: Swamp Grass, Grass Production, Carrying Capacity, Fiber Fraction
