Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determine the effects of different protein level on nitrogen balance and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) level of bligon goats. The design was completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications. Twenty bligon male goats with the initial body weight of 19,08±2,20 kg and age was about 10 -12 months old were used. The each treatments was R1 9% PK, 72 % TDN; R2 11% PK, 72% TDN; R3 13% PK, 72% TDN and R4 15% PK, 72% TDN. Data measured were nitrogen balance and blood urea nitrogen. The results indicated that different protein level did not give significant different on BUN before feeding and at six hours after feeding. Although the treatments were significant different (P<0.05) on BUN at four hours after feeding, there were highly significant different (P<0.01) on BUN at two hours after feeding and nitrogen balance. In conclusion the treaments of 15% CP level showed positive effect on male bligon goats performance in feedlot reviewed from nitrogen balance and blood urea nitrogen.
