Abstract

The pr ucess of learning and teaching which is known in national education are influenced by many f actors. In universities, as a part of education system, the process of learn:no and teaching will work smoothly it lecturers and students can coordinate each other. The lecturers as instructors should know what are needed by their students, and the students shuffle understand what the lecturers want, in other words, taken f or granted, their can take and give. The success of an activity depends on whether there are marry ohslAcl es faced and they need serious atteul ion to eliminate them. Every person has different ability in using their physical sense: visual, auditory, and tactile (the sense of touch). The students difference ability of using their physical sense require them to know short learning styles ari the most appropriate to thorn to he successful, f or the lecturers, it requires the respossibity in florist erring the lesson and the use of appropriate teaching aids. Tbe use of students' brain will influence the way of their thingking and responsl e in deciding things. Based on the use of a part of brain,h lecturers .ecturers are hoped to be Able to understand the way of students think and do the activities. This research is aimed to know the difference of the use of physi cal sense and brain on students that study both pure science and social sciences in University of Diponegore. The Bersch Learnt ng-st yle Inventory cl nnsi if ed that the majority of the Inn students in the sample (51 ludlaidUal ( or as learners who were predominantly v isua I, 30% of them preferred to auditory, and 0% tended to be tactile, and 11% preferred to use the combination of those three physical sense, visual, auditory and tactile. A summary of the Brain-Dominance Inventory scores shows that 49 individual or 49% they used bilateral scores, it means that they use their whole brain dominance (bi-lateral), while the 25% so close in the slight preference toward the left, and 9% moderate preference for the left, and 1% used left-brain dominantly (very strong). 11% of the sample shows that they used their brain slight preference toward the right, 4% moderate preference toward the right, and It was right-brain dominant. The result of both the Brain-Dominance Inventory and Barcsh-leaarrningStyles Inventory, or the use of physical sense, visual, auditor y, and tactile in the process of learning and teaching shows that there is no real difference between students of pure science and social science.
