Abstract

An experiment was conducted for 20 weeks to study the effect of implementation of fermented rice bran by Aspergillus ficuum on feed quality and laying hens performance based on feed consumption, egg production, egg weight, feed conversion, and protein efficiency ratio. The experiment used 120 medium type laying hens; there were 6 treatments consisted of 5 different diets containing 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50% fermented rice bran and a control diet containing 30% unfermented rice bran, each treatment was replicated 5 times. The data collected were subjected to statistical analysis using Completely Randomized Design; the significant means were compared by Duncan Multiple Range Test. Generally, the results showed that there were no significant effect of fermented rice bran implementation on feed quality and laying hens performance. It can be concluded that fermented rice bran by Aspergillus ficuum can be applied up to 50% in laying hens diet without negative effect on feed consumption, egg production, egg weight, feed conversion, and protein efficiency ratio.
