Abstract

Fly ash is one of burned coal waste. It can be obtained by screening the gas released from dismissal channel at power plant. Tons of fly ash which progressively heap every year has been dumped away without any treatment, this condition has causing pollution to environment and even to human being. That’s why; we need an appropriate solution to overcome this problem. Researches indicate the fact that, this fly ash has physical and chemistry properties which is useful in material construction and industry. Aluminium which representing one of the most used material by human is used as matrices for exploiting the use of fly ash as reinforcement. The expected benefit of the usage of fly ash is improving aluminium mechanical properties. To study how big the influences of fly ash addition to aluminium mechanical properties, the writer use strength and density test on specimens. The specimens were an aluminium fly ash composite which is made by stir casting method. Compositions of fly ash in aluminium were 5%, 10% and 15%. In the end of the experiment we can see that the strength tend to increase and density of material tend to decrease along with greater addition of fly ash in aluminium.
