Abstract

The Effect of Spinal Anesthesia on Hemodynamic change in Patients during Caesarean section Ismar Tri Hardiyanto1, Soenarjo2 ABSTRACT Background: Every anesthesia procedure has to look after patient’s condition, because it will influence all body system, including hemodynamic change in patient’s body . Spinal anesthesia is one of commonly used technique in regional anesthesia. The objective of this study is to prove that there are hemodynamic changes in patients who used spinal anesthesia during caesarean section operation. Methods: This study is an observational analytic with cross sectional method by using 20 samples who had experienced elective operation with general anesthesia in Central Operation Theatre Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang fulfilling the following criterions: age 20-36 years, physical status of ASA I-II, only had one-time shot, and had reached the expected dermatome. From those 20 samples, their hemodynamic appearance before anesthesia, after anesthesia, and 60 minutes after operation are then being compared each other. Tabulating of data using SPSS version 13 for Windows. Statistical test is done to prove hypothesis with ttest, with the previously done Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Assess p<0,05 expressed by significant. Results: There was significant difference in the hemodynamic condition before anesthesia, after anesthesia, and 60 minutes after operation. This was proved by the hemodynamic measurements result of statistical test covering systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, mean arterial pressure and pulse frequency with a level of significant p<0,05. Conclusion: There were hemodynamic changes in patients who used spinal anesthesia during caesarean section operation. Those were the decreasing value of systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and mean arterial pressure, while the pulse frequency was elevated. Keywords: Spinal anesthesia, caesarean section, hemodynamic, mean arterial pressure 1 Student of Medical Faculty Diponegoro University Semarang 2 Department of Anesthesia Medical Faculty Diponegoro University Semarang
