Abstract
Rapid expansion of telecommunication technology has brought a very big benefit for us. With the existence of telecommunication technology, many constraints such as distance, location, or time can be overcome. One of the technological results in telecommunication technology is Short Message Service or usually known as SMS. By using an SMS, the subscribers can do some exchange of text messages over each other. In this final assignment, it was developed a system which is using SMS as a forwarding media of information. With the existence of this system, the students can access their academic scores via SMS. This system can read academic scores saved in database and then send it to the students asking for it automatically also via SMS. The usage of SMS is the answer to the demand of amenity for the students in case of accessing their academic scores. By using an SMS, the students are able to access the academic scores any where any time without the limitations of time and location. System was developed using object oriented paradigm. One of the object oriented system development methods is Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD). This method resulted an object oriented model in requirement, analysis, and design phase of software development life cycle. Then this model would be implemented in an object oriented programming language (i.e. Visual Basic .Net) in order to build the real system. Keyword: SMS, academic score.
