Abstract
Salary payments are routine activities that have to do by various government institution at both the central and regional. Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) of Central Java is one of government institution which is implementing computerized in salary processing. However, it has not been optimal. To process salary, data is stored as an archive and it is entered to computer through Microsoft Excel 2003. This application can not be used well to process salary. It causes overdue of information and loss of data. To solve these problems, a new computerized system is needed to increase work efficiency. Method that is taken to build the new system is linier sequential model. This method suggests a systematic and sequential approach to software development that begins at the system level and progresses through analysis, design, coding, and testing. Software that is producted is Salary Application for Civil Employee (Study Case at Badan Pusat Statistik of Central Java). This application was built using Visual Basic 6.0 as language programming and Microsoft Access 2003 as database. Testing of the software is done with blackbox method. The software is able to make the resulting calculation of the salary process and to print payroll report. This software is expected can help the work of finance employee in processing salary at BPS of Central Java. Keyword : application, salary.
