Abstract
The research was carried out to study some influencing factors of broiler demand on household consum-ers in Pamulang District, Tangerang Regency. The research was done on July to August 2007, by survey method. Sampling method was done by multistage cluster sampling. The primary data were collected by observation and interview with 64 respondents and the secondary data were obtained from the interrelated institution. The data were analyzed by Cobb – Douglas regression model with SPSS Program 12 version. The results showed that the average of broiler demand was 1.98 Kg/cap/month. The broiler demand was highly significant (P<0.01), that was influenced by broiler price (x 1 ), layer egg price (x 2 ), family income (x 3 ), family member (x 4 ) and preference (x 5 ) with R 2 =0.888. The partial test showed that the broiler price, family member quantity and preference were highly significant (P<0.01) that was influenced by the broiler demand. The price demand elasticity was elastic with the value of -2.436. The value of income elasticity was 0.108 that indicated inelastic, it means that the broiler was normal product. The price value of cross elasticity was -0.078, it means that layer egg was not substitution product of broiler . Keywords : Broiler, Demand, Elasticity
