Abstract
The phenomena of retail development in Indonesia gives an opportunity to the Food and Beverage distributors to maintain its long-term relationship with the outlets. This research analyze the relationship development between retailer (outlet) and consumer goods distributor which is tried to achieve the long term relationship. To build the long term relationship, distributor needs outlet’s trust which is supported by factors as distributor’s characteristics and salesperson’s characteristics such as communication, outlet’s satisfaction and reliability of salesperson. Research problem is accomplished to know how to build the long-term relationship between distributor and outlet through factors as communication, outlet’s satisfaction and reliability of salesperson. Based on the case, a theoretical model and 5 hypotheses are accomplished to be tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The sample of this research is 104 consumer goods outlets which have been the customers of PT. Intan Alam Indah Semarang for at least the last one year. From the result of this analysis, Structural Equation Model has fulfilled criteria of Goodness of Fit Index; χ2 ( chi square) 166.133, probability 0.100 ( ≥ 0.05 ), RMSEA 0.039 ( ≤ 0.08 ), GFI 0.862 (≥ 0.90), AGFI 0.818 ((≥ 0.90), TLI 0.982 (≥0.95), CFI 0.985 (≥0.95). So that it can be told that this model is competent to be used. Examination of raised hypotheses indicate that hypotheses 1,2,3,4,5 have up the standard which determined by the value of CR > 2 with probability level <0.05. The result shows that there is a significant relationship between communication, outlets’ satisfaction with trust to the distributor, the salesperson expertise with the trust to the salesperson and trust to the salesperson with trust to the distributor and trust to the distributor with long – term relationship. The end of this research is to connect the research result with theoretical implication and managerial implication. Research limitation and further research can be used as a reference for the next research. Fenomena perkembangan industri ritel di Indonesia menawarkan peluang baik bagi perusahaan distributor consumer goods makanan dan minuman untuk membina dan mempertahankan hubungan jangka panjang dengan outletnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepercayaan outlet ritel pada pemasoknya untuk mencapai hubungan jangka panjang yang berkelanjutan. Untuk membangun hubungan jangka panjang, distributor membutuhkan kepercayaan dari outlet langganannya yang didukung oleh faktor karakteristik distributor dan karakteristik tenaga penjualannya seperti komunikasi, kepuasan atas strategi pelayanan outlet dan kehandalan tenaga penjualan. Masalah penelitian diajukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana membina hubungan jangka panjang antara distributor dan outlet melalui faktor – faktor seperti komunikasi, kepuasan dan kehandalan tenaga penjualan. Atas dasar ini diajukan model teoritis dan 5 hipotesis untuk diuji dengan metode SEM. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 104 outlet ritel yang menjadi pelanggan PT. Intan Alam Indah Semarang minimal satu tahun terakhir. Hasil analisis SEM memenuhi criteria Goodness of Fit Index ; χ2 ( chi square) 166.133, probability 0.100 ( ≥ 0.05 ), RMSEA 0.039 ( ≤ 0.08 ), GFI 0.862 (≥ 0.90), AGFI 0.818 ((≥ 0.90), TLI 0.982 (≥0.95), CFI 0.985 (≥0.95). Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa model ini layak. Kelima hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hubungan kerjasama jangka panjang dibangun melalui kepercayaan. Faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap tinggi rendahnya kepercayaan terhadap distributor adalah kepercayaan pada tenaga penjualan, komunikasi dan kepuasan atas strategi pelayanan outlet.
