Abstract

Nurse’s Interpersonal competency is nurse’s skill to perform interpersonal relationship with patients by providing friendliness, politeness, attention, and stability. Low interpersonal competency of Nurses at Inpatient Unit is a main problem which must be handled by the management of BrigJend H. Hassan Basri Public Hospital in Kandangan. Aim of this research was to find out aspects of nursing management that influence to nurse’s interpersonal competency. This was observational research using cross sectional approach. Population was all nurses who performed function of services at Inpatient Unit of the hospital. Data were analyzed using bivariate analysis (Chi Square Test) and multivariate analysis (Logistic Regression Test using Enter method). Result of this research shows that most of the respondents have a high interpersonal competency (30.9%), good leadership (69.1%), good organizing (63.2%), good monitoring (52.9%), and good work environment (33.8%). Based on bivariate analysis, variables of leadership, monitoring, motivating, and work environment have a significant relationship with nurse’s interpersonal competency at Inpatient Unit of the hospital (p < 0.05). Result of multivariate analysis reveals that variables of monitoring (p=0.068; Exp B: 3.497), and work environment (p=0.007 and Exp B: 5.536) together influence towards nurse’s interpersonal satisfaction at Inpatient Unit of BrigJend H. Hassan Basri Public Hospital, Kandangan. As a suggestion, the hospital management should decide the advising program of nurse’s work performance, make delegating procedures of duty and authority, perform nursing supervision, do evaluation of reward system, improve work place of nursing staffs, perform personality training, and arrange Standard Operating Procedure of friendliness services and guidance book of self-emotion control. Kompetensi interpersonal perawat adalah kemampuan perawat dalam melakukan hubungan interpersonal kepada pasien dengan keramahan, kesopanan, perhatian dan kestabilan. Rendahnya kompetensi interpersonal perawat di unit rawat inap merupakan permasalahan penting yang harus ditangani pihak manajemen RSUD BrigJend H. Hassan Basri Kandangan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aspek-aspek manajemen keperawatan yang berpengaruh terhadap kompetensi interpersonal perawat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional, dengan pendekatan rancangan penelitian cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh perawat yang melaksanakan fungsi pelayanan di unit rawat inap RSUD BrigJend H. Hassan Basri Kandangan. Analisis statistik yang digunakan analisis bivariat dengan uji chi square dan analisis multivariat dengan uji regresi logistik metode enter. Hasil analisis deskriptif, kompetensi interpersonal tinggi (30,9%), kepemimpinan keperawatan baik (69,1%), pengorganisasian keperawatan baik (63,2%), pengawasan keperawatan baik (52,9%) dan lingkungan kerja keperawatan baik (33,8%). Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kepemimpinan keperawatan, pengawasan keperawatan, motivasi keperawatan dan lingkungan kerja keperawatan terhadap kompetensi interpersonal di unit rawat inap RSUD BrigJend H. Hassan Basri Kandangan (05,0<p). Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan adanya pengaruh bersama-sama antara pengawasan keperawatan (068,0=p,)(βExp=3,497), lingkungan kerja keperawatan (007,0=p,)(βExp= 5,536) terhadap kompetensi interpersonal di unit rawat inap RSUD BrigJend H. Hassan Basri Kandangan. Saran yang dapat direkomendasikan dalam penelitian ini adalah penetapan program bimbingan kinerja pelayanan perawat, membuat prosedur pendelegasian tugas dan wewenang, melaksanakan supervisi keperawatan, melakukan evaluasi reward system, membenahi tempat kerja staf keperawatan, melaksanakan pelatihan kepribadian, menyusun Standard Operating Procedure pelayanan ramah-tamah dan menyusun buku pegangan pengendalian emosi diri.
