Abstract

Kata Kunci: Zeolit, karbon aktif tempurung kelapa, absorbent media saring, zat organik, limbah cair industri tekstil The Efectivity Differences of Zeolit and Coconut Shell Active Carbon as Filtration Media Absorbent in Decreasing The Amount of Organik Substance in Liquid Waste of SANDRATEX Textile Industry Coorperation in Semarang City Industry very required especially to Indonesia nation which is medium expand. However industries also yield waste, among others is high an organic matter content. From early inspection, an organic matter rate of PT SANDRATEX textile industry liquid waste is 110 mg/L meaning to exceed boundary sill that is 50 mg/L. Organic Materials and industry liquid waste can be lessened by absorption, using active carbon and also with zeolite. Textile industry PT SANDRATEX represent one of the textile industry with type produce cotton textile and cotton tetoron (TC). Liquid waste of textile industry yielded from industrial process especially from sizing, desizing, washing, scouring, bleaching, omission rest of chlorine, printing, and process completion of cloth. The aim of this research is to know efectivity difference of zeolite and coconut shell active carbon as filtration media absorbent in decreasing the amount of organic substance in liquid waste, in order to control environment contamination. Research type used by is clarification research (confirmatory or explanatory research), with Pretest-Posttest Group Design research plan. From Anova analysis, result F= 680,259 ; df between group = 27 and significant 0,000. From result of LSD test (Least Significant Difference) known that difference of biggest an organic matter rate mean is between sand filtration media with active carbon filtration media is equal to 69,88 mg/L. From result of Duncan test known that highest degradation is with treatment of media filter active carbon of coconut shell yielding to typical organic matter rate after treatment equal to 30,61 mg/L. As suggestion, this research still requires to be continued by using different filter thick variation and different filter type to get better result. For the enterpreneur suggested to process liquid waste with coconut shell active carbon as filtration media for the creation on industry which is with environmental vision Keyword : zeolite, coconut shell active carbon, filtration media absorbent, amount organic substance, textile industry liquid waste
