PERANAN SEKTOR PERTANIAN DALAM MENCIPTAKAN KESEMPATAN KERJA DI JAWA TENGAH TAHUN 1993-2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT The agricultural sector has a major role in regional and national economy, among others, in the form absorption of employment, provision of food and industrial raw materials, as well as the main source of livelihood for the majority community. Agricultural sector development became the main motor of economic development . Formulation of the problem in this study that the contribution of agriculture to the Gross Regional Domestic Product in Central Java from 1993- 2007 tended to decline. thus, decreasing the influence of the agricultural sector's contribution is increasingly small amount of labor absorbed in the agricultural sector. The study was conducted in Central Java Province. Central Java Province is known as one ofthe pillars ofthe national food buffer. The data collected in the form oftime series for 15 years, starting from 1993 to 2007. Variables used in this study is employment in the agricultural sector (KK) as the dependent variable and independent variables are GDP growth in the agricultural sector (GrPDRB), agricultural sector investments (INV), labor productivity of the agricultural sector (PTK), and the wage agriculture sector (WAGE). The purpose of this study are to analyze the agricultural sector GDP growth, agricultural investment, agricultural wages, labor productivity of the agricultural sector to the agricultural sector employment in central Java in 1993-2007. Analysis model used multiple linear regression model. Based on the analysis of this study found that labor productivity variable (PTK) demonstrated the agriculture sector is negative and significant employment opportunities in the agricultural sector. for variables GDP growth of agriculture sector has a positive relationship and not significant, the agricultural sector investment has a relationship negative and not significant, and the wages of the agricultural sector has a positive relationship and no significant impact on employment opportunities in the agricultural sector. It means that the three independent variables didn'thave real impact on the dependent variable.
