Abstract

Background : Elementary school children usually choose street foods with poor nutrient content. Therefore energy and protein contribution of street foods to daily requirement is low. Street foods is expected to fulfill the lack of daily food energy and protein consumption. This study was aimed to determine combination of traditional street foods consumption in school age children in Palembang. Method : The study design was an observational study using cross sectional approach. A total of 96 students from 3 elementary school participated in the study. Statistic test was conducted to discuss the study result. Bivariate analysis using Rank Spearman Correlation test was conducted to measure association between pocket money and nutrition knowledge. Multiple Linear Regression was used to measure multivariate association between variables. Result : The average of energy and protein requirement were 97,5% and 136,5%. Most of respondents (73,5%) consumed street foods with poor nutrient composition (score < 3). Energy and protein contents of street foods available were about 30 – 252 kcal and 0,3 – 5,5 grams respectively. There are four package of expected street foods combination were content energy and protein about 269 – 300 kcal and 5 – 7 grams respectively. Conclusion : A well – combined expected traditional street foods ; minimum four kinds of street foods may increase energy and protein intake of school children. Latar Belakang : Anak SD belum bisa memilih makanan jajanan yang mempunyai kandungan gizi yang baik sehingga sumbangan energi dan protein makanan jajanan terhadap kecukupan makanan sehari rendah. Padahal sumbangan zat gizi makanan jajanan diharapkan dapat memenuhi kekurangan tingkat kecukupan energi dan protein makanan sehari. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan kombinasi makanan jajanan tradisional harapan pada anak sekolah dasar di Kota Palembang. Metod a : Penelitian ini menggunakan Observasional Study Design dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 96 orang yang dipilih secara Purposive Sampling dari 3 SD. Dilakukan uji statistik terlebih dahulu untuk menunjang hasil penelitian. Analisis Bivariat menggunakan uji korelasi Rank Spearman untuk variabel uang saku dan Korelasi Product Moment Pearson untuk variabel uang jajan dan pengetahuan gizi, sedangkan multivariat menggunakan Regresi Linier Berganda. Hasil: Tingkat kecukupan energi anak SD yaitu 99,5% dan protein 136,5 %. Sebagian besar responden (73,5%) mengkonsumsi makanan jajanan dengan komposisi yang kurang ( skor < 3). Komposisi makanan jajanan tradisional yang dijual di sekolah rata-rata mengandung energi dan protein antara 30 sampai 252 kkal dan 0,3 sampai 5,5 g. Terdapat empat paket kombinasi makanan jajanan tradisional harapan yang terdiri dari empat jenis makanan jajanan yang mengandung energi 269 sampai 300 kkal dan protein 5 sampai 7 g. Simpulan : Kombinasi makanan jajanan yang terdiri dari 4 jenis makanan jajanan tradisional dapat meningkatkan kecukupan energi dan protein makanan sehari anak SD.
