Abstract
Fisheries Industry especially canned fish always produce fish by products, that is consist of fish heads, fins, tails, scales, and intestine. The fish by product from canning industries if not manage in professional way will occurred environmental pollutions which followed by bluebottles insect ( fly ) in big quantity Recovering this by product is the one of solution for minimizing environmental pollution generation, mainly the decomposed matter and the bluebottle insects by recover this by products to make another products which have more economical value and more benefit for human health. The method is using extraction wise, with additionally of papain proteolyses enzyme to recover the fish oil. In this research using two factorial treatment that is a temperature adjustment on 60 oC, 70 oC, 80 oC, 90 oC and 100 oC with concentration of enzyme of papain on ) %, 0,5 %, 1 %, 1.5 %, 2 %, 2,5 %. Fish oil can be recovered by enzymatic extraction method from fish by product . This method will produce oil emulsion in the waters and then treated using decantation system. Furthermore this fish oil send to the Laboratory, the purpose is to know the quality with specification of iod number and acid number. The result is, for iod number is 1,73 gr/100 gr sample and the acid number is 3,64 mg KOH/gr sample. From this research fish oil recovered, the lowest is 0 % enzyme concentration at temperature heating 60 oC with yield 16, 13 gram and the highest is 2 % enzyme concentration at temperature heating 100 oC with yield 33,13 gram. According to the result of this research .can be concluded that, fish by product from fish canning industry can be recovered the fish oil.
