Abstract

The research aimed o identify carcass charac eris ic ha can be used for es ima ing composi ion of beef carcass.I was used 165 Brahman crossbred ca le in his research.Carcass charac eris ics were weigh of a half cold carcass (WC)ranged from 96 o 151 kg,loin eye area (LEA)ranged from 22.09 o 304.8 mm 2 ,12 h rib fa hickness (FT12)ranged from 0.80 o 2.90 mm,mea ranged from 53.55 o 90.10 kg and carcass fa ranged from 5.54 o 39.72 kg.Resul showed ha a half weight cold carcass as a single indica or major may be used o predic mea weigh and carcass fa wi h regression linear equa ion:Mea (kg)=10.64 +0.49 WC (R 2 =0.728 and SE=3.58),and Fa (kg)=-21.70 +0.36 WC** (R 2 =0.582 and SE=3.65).Mul iple regression o predic mea weight based on fa percentage of kidney, pelvic and hear (KPH)was Mea (kg)=7.99 +0.58 WC**-4.41 KPH**(R 2 =0.751 and SE=3.43).
