Abstract

The objective of thi re earch wa to tudy the relationship between body mea urement and body weight and closene among wamp buffalo at three populations in Central Java.The 110 heads of wamp buffalo mea ured were from 29 heads of Pati di trict,56 head of Kudus di trict,and 25 heads of Semarang city.Age of buffaloe used wa 1-5 year old.The quantitative trait mea ured were body weight (BW),body length (BL),houlder height (SH),pelvic height (PH),che t depth (CD),che t circumference (CC),che t width (CW),Pelvic width (PW),and wai t width (WW).The data wa analyzed by using multivariate procedure of SAS ver 6.The re ult howed that be t equation to e timate BW for male buffalo wa Y=-601,8 +2,3 BL +3,4 CD +2,4 CC,while that for female wa Y =-644,5 +2,8 BL +1,6 CD +2,9 CC.Swamp buffalo in Semarang-Pati howed the closer relationship compared to the Pati-Kudus Di trict and to Kudus Di trict-Semarang City.
