Abstract
The objective of esea ch was to evaluate the effect of maltose concent ation in T is dilution on epididymal spe matozoa quality of Bali bull that prese ved at 5 0 C.Five testis of Bali bull collected f om slaughte house we e used in this study.Epididymal spe matozoa we e collected th ough slicing and flushing methods,p essing cauda epididymal was conducted in NaCl physiology (NaCl 0.9%)emulsion. Spe matozoa which collected we e divided into th ee eaction tube and each diluted by T is dilution containing:T is dilution +20%of yolk (cont ol);T is dilution +20%of yolk +0.3 g of maltose/100ml (M0.3);and T is dilution +20%of yolk +0.6 g maltose/100 ml (M0.6).Spe matozoa qualities obse ved we e motile spe matozoa (MS),live-spe matozoa (LS)and intact-plasma membrane (IPM)that evaluated daily in ef ige ator at tempe ature of 5 o C.Completely Randomized Design with th ee t eatments and five eplications was used in this study.Data was analyzed by analysis of va iance. Examination on f esh spe matozoa showed that spe matozoa concent ation was 11,222.5 million cell/ml, motile spe matozoa was 75.00%,live-spe m was 86.75%,abnormal spe matozoa was 10.50%, cytoplasmic droplet was 14.00%and IPM was 86.75%.At the seventh day of p ese vation, the pe centages of MS,LS and IPM in M0.3 we e 37.0 %,49.2%and 50.4%,espectively,and M0.6 we e 38.05%;51.8 %and 52.0%,espectively that we e significantly highe (P<0.05)than cont ol (29.0%; 41.8%and 42.4%,espectively).It was concluded that maltose added into T is dilution could lengthen epididymal spe matozoa quality of Bali bull which pe seve ed at 5 0 C.
