RETORIKA DALAM SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING: ANALISIS ATAS NARRATIVE TEXTPENGUNGKAPAN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY DALAM SUSTAINABILITYREPORT PT. ANEKA TAMBANG, TBK

Abstract

This study is about corporate social responsibility (CSR) study. Focus ofthis study is to analyze CSR disclosure and reporting in sustainability reporting of PT. Aneka Tambang (Antam). This study aims to: analyze the content of Antam sustainability report; analyze the reporting framework which is used by Antam to disclose its CSR performance; analyze whether Antam sustainability reporting fully comply with the standard of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI); and analyze the reasons of why Antam disclose and report its CSR performance by presenting sustainability report which is separated with annual report. This study uses semiotic analyses and rhetoric to analyze narrative texts which contained in Antam sustainability report. The analyzed data is 2006 and 2007 Antam sustainability report. Antam sustainability report is obtained by downloading at company's website, which is www.antam.com. This study concludes that Antam compasses on Global Reporting Initiative Guidelines in reporting its sustainability performance. This study claims that generally Antam has conducted the disclosure standard required by Global Reporting Initiative. This study also states the reasons why Antam reporting its sustainabilityperformance in sustainability report.
