Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh inokulum feses terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik dan profil gas rumput kumpeh (Hymenachne Amplexicaulis). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (5 x 4) dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini meliputi inokulum cairan rumen, inokulum cairan feses (IF), IF ditambah gula 2,5 % (b/v), IF ditambah gula 2,5 % (b/v) dan urea 2,5 % (b/v), IF urea 2,5 % (b/v) untuk perlakuan A, B, C, D dan E. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan teknik in vitro dua langkah Tilley dan Terry (1963). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemakaian inokulum feses nyata (P<0,05) lebih rendah terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik dan terhadap profil gas rumput kumpeh bila dibandingkan dengan inokulum cairan rumen. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan gula ataupun urea kedalam inokulum feses belum mampu meningkatkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik dan profil gas dari rumput kumpeh. Kata kunci : inokulum feses, in vitro, rumput kumpeh, kecernaan ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to reveal the effect of faecal inoculum on the in vitro digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and the gas profile of Kumpeh grass(Hymenachne Amplexicaulis). The design of this research was Completely Randomized Design (5 x 4) with five treatments and four replications. The treatments were rumen liquor inoculum, faecal inoculum (FI), FI added with sugar of 2.5 % (w/v), FI added with sugar of 2.5 % (w/v) and urea of 2.5 % (w/v) and FI added with urea of 2.5 % (w/v) for treatments A, B, C, D and E respectively. Samples of Kumpeh grass were tested by the two steps in vitro technique of Tilley and Terry. Results of this study showed that faecal inoculum significantly (P<0.05) decreased the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and the gas profile of Kumpeh grass. The use of faecal inoculum (treatment B, C, D and E) had the lower digestibility of dry matter, organic matter than that of the rumen liquor. It might be concluded that the addition of sugar or and urea in the faecal inoculum could not increase yet the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and gas profile of kumpeh grass.
