Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of different levels of Blok Tabut on milk production of lactating FH cross. The Blok Tabut contained of 40% fermented cassava, 15% temulawak fluid, 15% ground corn, 15% rice hulls, 3% limestone, 3% NaCl, 1% TSP, 3.5% cement, 1.5% Premix, and 3% urea, and were sized in 300 g/block. The nutrients of the Blok Tabut were as followed, 65.57% dry matter, 48.10% organic matter, 17.47% ash, 9.89% crude fiber, 5.89% crude fiber, 3.63% ether extract, and 1,965.40 cal/g energy. The Blok Tabuts were then supplemented for the cows in these treatments: R0: basal ration + 0 g blok /ekor/hari; R1: basal ration + 150/g/day, R2: basal ration + 300 g/day, and R3: basal ration + 450 g/ day. Basal ration was given on the farm basis in each group. The application of the treatment was based on the Completely Randomized Block Design on 16 lactating FH cross cows. Results showed that milk productions were 7.04, 7.57, 7.46, dan 9.38 kg/head/day for R0, R1, R2 and R3 treatments, respectively. The increment of milk production was coincident with the increasing Blok Tabut, making up in a model of Y: 6.66 + 0.005 x with correlation of, r = 0.90. The Blok Tabut with Temulawak , containing curcuminoid and atciric oil, which were maintaining lactation and milk let down, was also maintaining the rumen microbes balance; then synergically worked together with readiable carbohydrate from tape and others like mineral and urea would increase the biosynthesis of nutrients into milk production. It may be concluded that the increasing supplementation of Blok Tabut would increase milk production of FH cows. Keywords: Blok Tabut, milk production, FH cross cow
