Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh penambahan zeolit dalam ransum terhadap kualitas telur ayam ras pada fase produksi II. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan lima perlakuan penambahan zeolit dalam ransum (0; 2; 4; 6; dan 8%), ulangan empat kali, dan menggunakan 40 ekor ayam petelur CP 909 yang berumur 60 minggu. Penelitian dilakukan selama 6 minggu. Peubah yang diamati konsumsi ransum, tebal kerabang, kadar lemak dan kadar kolesterol kuning telur. Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dan uji polinomial ortogonal, pengujian pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan zeolit sampai tingkat 8 % dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata dalam meningkatkan tebal kerabang dan menurunkan kadar lemak kuning telur. Akan tetapi, berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap kadar kolesterol kuning telur dan konsumsi ransum. Kata kunci: zeolit, kualitas telur, fase produksi dua ABSTRACT This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of zeolite addition in layer ration on egg quality in the second phase of production. This experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with 5 zeolite levels in ration (0; 2; 4; 6 and 8%) and 4 replications. The total hens were 40 of CP 909 (60 weeks of age), and this experiment was done 4 weeks. The parameters evaluated were feed consumption, the shell thickness, fat of yolk levels, and cholesterol of yolk levels. The data were analysed using Analysis of Variance, and continued with polynom orthogonal test. The result of this research showed that zeolite addition in the ration up to 8% had increased the shell thickness , and decreased fat of yolk levels , but did not significantly affect on cholesterol of yolk levels and feed consumption.
