Abstract
Object : To determine a total time needed and diameter of non proliverative diabetic retinopathy patients pupil, either vertically or horizontally; after tropicamide 1% instillation. Methode : Cross sectional study on 72 non proliferative diabetic retinopathy patients, which is within age 50 - <65 years was done. After instillation of tropicamide 1%, a time needed recorded every 5 minutes to achieved a maximum mydriasis at which pupil diameter was measured. Analysis was done to compare the results with an every stages of diabetic retinopathy using ANOVA and chi-square test. Result : From 72 patients studied, there were no significant differences found between age of the patients toward stages of non proliverative diabetic retinopathy. Time needed to achieved a maximal mydriasis after instillation of tropicamide 1% tend to become longer at later stages than a mild diabetic retinopathy, with mean of 20.42 minutes. Pupil diameter significantly decreased for moderate to very severe stages than a mild stage, which is a maximal diameter was 6 mm. Conclusion : There were no difference found on age of non proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Time needed to achieved a maximum mydriasis tend to become longer and the pupil diameter smaller in advance stages than a mild stage. A maximum pupil size of 6 mm or less in diabetic patients may be used as indicator the presence of diabetic retinopathy. Tujuan : Mengetahui perbedaan lama pencapaian midriasis setelah pemberian 1 tetes tropicamide 1% dan mengetahui perbedaan diameter pupil, balk horisontal ataupun vertikal, sebelum dan sesudah pemberian 1 tetes tropicamide 1%; pada berbagai derajat retinopati diabetika non proliferatif DM tipe 2. Metoda : Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode cross sectional terhadap 72 penderita retinopati diabetika non proliferatif DM tipe 2 dengan rentang usia 50 - <65 tahun. Lama pencapaian midriasis dicatat. Dicatat pula diameter pupil sebelum penetesan dan diameter pupil maksimal sesudah penetesan. Hasil yang diperoleh dilakukan uji statistik menggunakan test ANOVA dan tes thi-square. Basil : Dari 72 sampel yang diteliti, tidak ada perbedaan bermakna dalam hal umur pada berbagai derajat retinopati diabetika. Waktu yang diperlukan untuk mencapai midriasis maksimal, setelah diberi 1 tetes tropicamide 1%, pada retinopati diabetika non proliferatif derajat sedang sampai sangat berat terdapat kecenderungan lebih lama dibandingkan derajat ringan; dengan total rerata 20,42 menit (SD + 7,54). Diameter pupil maksimal pada derajat sedang sampai sangat berat lebih kecil secara bermakna (p<0.05) dibandingkan derajat ringan. Kesimpulan : Umur dan waktu pencapaian midriasis maksimal tidak ada perbedaan bermakna pada penderita retinopati diabetika dengan berbagai derajat yang berbeda. Diameter pupil maksimal menjadi lebih kecil secara bermakna pada retinopati diabetika non proliferatif derajat sedang sampai sangat berat. Diameter pupil maksimal 6 mm atau kurang pada penderita diabetes mellitus tipe 2 kemungkinan terdapat retinopati diabetika
