Abstract

The turnover of nurses at Mardi Rahayu Hospital between the year 2000 and 2003 ranged from 3,43 - 8,43%. There is no complete data regarding the cause of the nurses turnover in this hospital. In fact that the employees turnover caused various losses in the organization. The aim of this research was to get the overview of the characteristics of nurses, the sufficient perception of compensation, the turnover intentions of nurses at Mardi Rahayu hospital, and relationship between perception of sufficiency of compensation with the turnover intentions of nurses at Mardi Rahayu hospital. The type of the research was survey research or quantitative research using a cross sectional approach and used a qualitative method to strengthen the information. The analysis used the quantitative method and followed by qualitative. Additional method used triangulation to give another perspective to the same problems and to get the internal validity at the same time. The results of the research shown that the characteristics of nurses at Mardi Rahayu hospital are : age group < 30 year : 83,5%; women : 76,9%; married : 52,2%; light responsibility: 86,8%; years of service < 5 year : 67,6%; do not occupy the position : 89,6%. Perception of sufficiency of financial compensation : 63,1 % have enough perception; non financial: 72% have less than enough. The turnover intentions of the nurses at Mardi Rahayu hospital is 33%. There is a weak correlation between the sufficient perception of non financial compensation and the turnover intention, which has the correlation number of 0,018. Therefore the variable of sufficient perception of non financial compensation cannot predict the turnover intentions variable. It is suggested that there is compilation of strategy for compensation which can prevent the turnover intentions and there should be exit interview for the employees who want to quit, so that the existence or the condition of the organization can be understood from the point of view of the employees who want to resign. Turnover tenaga keperawatan RS Mardi Rahayu Kudus pada tahun 2000 sampai 2003 berkisar antara 3,43% - 8,43%. Tidak ada data yang lengkap mengenai sebab kepindahan Perpindahan karyawan menyebabkan berbagai kerugian pada organisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang karakteristik tenaga keperawatan, persepsi kecukupan pemberian kompensasi, keinginan berpindah tempat kerja tenaga keperawatan di RS Mardi Rahayu dan hubungan antara persepsi kecukupan pemberian kompensasi dengan keinginan berpindah tempat kerja. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian survai (kuantitatif) dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Analisis dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif dan dilanjutkan dengan kualitatif. Metode triangulasi ini digunakan untuk memberikan perspektif yang lain atas permasalahan yang sama sekaligus digunakan untuk memperoleh validitas internal. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan karakteristik tenaga keperawatan RS Mardi Rahayu berupa : tersebar merata di semua ruangan; kelompok umur < 30 tahun : 83,5%; jenis kelamin perempuan : 76,9%; telah kawin : 52,2%; tanggungan ringan: 86,8%; masa kerja < 5 tahun : 67,6%; tidak menduduki jabatan : 89,6%. Persepsi kecukupan pemberian kompensasi finansial : 63,1% berpersepsi cukup; non finansial : 72% berpersepsi kurang cukup. Persentase keinginan berpindah tempat kerja tenaga keperawatan RS Mardi Rahayu mencapai 33%. Terdapat hubungan antara persepsi kecukupan pemberian kompensasi non finansial dan keinginan berpindah tempat kerja, dengan angka korelasi 0,018 (lemah) sehingga variabel persepsi kecukupan pemberian kompensasi non finansial tidak dapat memprediksi variabel keinginan berpindah tempat kerja. Disarankan penyusunan strategi pemberian kompensasi yang dapat mencegah turnover dan diadakan exit interview untuk karyawan yang akan pindah sehingga dapat diketahui keberadaan organisasi menurut sudut pandang karyawan yang akan keluar.
