Abstract
Background. Dengue virus infection can show variation of clinical spectrum from mild degree to severe degree. Mild dengue virus infection cause asymptom or fever without unclear causal factor through are kept up with dengue fever, dengue haemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. Dengue virus infection is an endemic and make potentially outbreaks in all around the world, included in Semarang. Risk factors which influence to dengue virus infection, such as host, agent and environment. Host factor consists of gender, nutritional status and age. Role of environment as disease reservoir. Objective. The objective of this study is to analyze environment factor which influences the occurence of dengue virus infection. Method. This is a case control study using 54 cases and 54 controls. Case is confirmed by Immunoglobulin G (+) and control is confirmed by Immunoglobulin G (-) Risk factors included in this study were physical environment, non physical environment and intrinsic factor. Multiple logistic regression was used to analyze the data. Result Risk factors of dengue virus infection in Semarang City were low nutritional status (OR = 3,8 ; 95 % CI OR = 1,3 — 11,1), the existence of larvae in the water container (OR = 11,5 ; 95 % CI OR = 3,7 — 35,4) and the interval of cleaning water container more than 7 days (OR = 11,5 ; 95 % CI OR = 3,8 — 35,1). Conclusion. Environment factors which influence the infection of dengue virus were low nutritional status, the existence of larvae in the water container and the interval of cleaning water container more than 7 days. Suggestion. Strive for upgrading of children nutritional status, carry out water container with 3M's activity, interval of cleaning water container less than 7 days. Latar belakang. Faktor risiko kejadian infeksi virus dengue di Kota Semarang, yaitu : status gizi kurang (OR = 3,8 ; 95% CI OR = 1,3 — 11,1), tempat penampungan air yang berjentik (OR = 11,5 ; 95% CI OR = 3,7 — 35,4) dan interval menguras tempat penampungan air lebih dari 7 hari (OR = 11,5 ; 95% CI OR = 3,8 — 35,1). Saran. Upaya perbaikan gizi anak, mengelola tempat penampungan air dengan kegiatan 3M, menguras tempat penampungan air dengan interval kurang dafi 7 hari
