The Regional HoSpital for Mentally Sick People of Dr. Amino Gondohutomo at Semarang has tasks to develop, to cultivate, and to deliver health services comprehensively. One of the hospital activities is giving medicines to patients. Introductory stud.y showed that information system aptivities of pharmacy had not been done maximally. It was caused by slowness, inaccuracy at data processing, and difficulty in re-access the data. The aim of this research was to develop the pharmacy infonnation system to support the taking of an inventory decision specifiCally for the medicines at the Pharmacy Installation at the Hospital. This was an Expeijimental research. The research measured before and after the new system implementation. It was done by observation and in-depth interview to get a model system, and to apply the SDLC (System Development Live Cycle). Analysis used a calculating and a comparing a time duration that was needed by the Pharmacy Installation Officer for identifying the Isystem effectiveness that was developed. The subjects of this research were the Hospital Director, the Head of the Pharmacy Instalation, the Head of the Medical Supporting Department, the Medicine Officer and the Doctors. The object of this research was the Pharmacy Information System to take an inventory decision at the Regional Hospital for Mentally Sick People of Dr. Amino Gondohutorno at Semarang. The results of this research showes that the Information System Design of the Pharmacy comprises a system model design, an input, an output, basis data, and an inter-face. Finally, it gets the Pharmacy Information System, which can assist to overcome the problems in a managemeM of medicines at the Pharmacy Instalation at the Regional Hospital for Mentally Sick People of Dr. Amino Gondohutomo at Semarang. Conclusions. The Pharmacy Information System that has already been developed can overcome the weaknesses of the old system primarily in speed, accuracy, completeness, and easy to use. Based on the examining sYstem and the evaluation of the system, all respondents very agree with the new system. The Pharmacy Information System can process the data quickly, accurately, and easy to use,. Technically, it can be applied at all Pharmacy Installations at the Hospital.
