Abstract

Leadership black-box may drive the emergence of various theories from different perspectives. One of that is the trait theory that explains the effectiveness of a leader. This theory has developed further by personalized the leader leading to perfectibility of man, and it postulates that a leader has no weaknesses. As a result, an ideal figure of a leader is likely not to be found in real life because there is always weaknes of human side of a leader. Substitute leadership theory, however, may serve as alternative view when leadership crisis come out in organization.
