ANALISIS PERMINTAAN OBJEK WISATA ALAM CURUG SEWU, KABUPATEN KENDAL DENGAN PENDEKATAN TRAVEL COST

Abstract

The objective of this research is to assess economic value from visitors of Curug Sewu Resort, in Kendal Regency by Individual Travel Cost Method (ITCM). Curug Sewu is chosen due to high potency for recreation demand. Regression analysis was involved in this study with specification of number of visit as dependent variable and six variables as independent variables. Variable of travel cost to Curug Sewu consist of transportation cost, consumption cost, ticket, parking cost, documentation, and other cost, travel cost to another site (Rp), variable of age (year), variable of education (year), variable of income (Rp), and variable of distance (Km). The economic value of Curug Sewu is estimated by consumer surplus of visitor which accounted for Rp896,734.9 for each individual in a year or Rp224,I 98.7 each individual visit, and total economic value (TEV) of Curug Sewu amounting to RpI2,377,025,750,- (consumer surplus of each individual visit multiplied with the number of visitors in the year of 2003). The benefit of the Curug Sewu was Rp224.I98.7,- for each individual visit. This number is still higher than the average expenditure of visitor (Rp87,652.-). Thereafter, Curug Sewu should be developed and managed properly. Key-words: Demand, Travel Cost, Economic Value, Consumer Surplus, Natural Site
